Sometimes Yetso the Fiend will tell stories and recite poems to assembled children. This one's called
THE GAS GOOSE POEM
There once was a goose...
Yes, a goose.
(many children raise their hands to suggest what it is, and Yetso, as if reading their minds, replies...)
NOT a hippopotamoose.
(they lower them, but more arms are raised to suggest more possibilities ..)
Nor an octopoose.
(they lower them, but more arms are raised to suggest more possibilities ..)
Nor a glass of pickled herring juice...
- Is one of your screws loose?!
(the children all drop their arms. Yetso composes himself.)
No, there was this GOOSE.

like gossamer gusts gails or gas.
yes GAS - this GOOSE made of GAS
and flocks of them meet en masse
in the top of an o'erturned hourglass.
It flies light as a feather
Makes friends with the weather
(one of the children, Heather, is restless, and starts standing up)
-Sit down now Heather!
It is one with the air
as it climbs Heaven's stair
as it soars through a cloud
all majestic and proud
its squawks are like thunder
you can't help but wonder
what it would eat, what it would drink
if it was underwater would it swim or sink?
These are all questions for some other time
Right now you must listen to a whole other rhyme!
Did I ever tell you of the Lama of Lime?
Cat made of Coal, or the Amazing Mud Mole?
Ahem...
There once was a...
