What are robot dogs? And why do we have them?

I will relate to you the history, but please recall: I am no expert.

Originally, dogs were given to robots as gifts. The saying goes "A dog is a man's best friend." So a dog is probably a robot's best friend too, or at the very least, an excellent acquaintance. This was our primitive ancestors' logic anyway. We can laugh at them now, but remember, back then the brains of humans were infinitessimal. They really didn't have much to work with, and as such, are worthy of pity rather than ridicule.

What did humans get out of the gift exchange? Lip balms. Humans said "goodbye!" to chapness and robots said "*BEEP* *BLORP*" to funny little furry pals. They took them on walks and dismantled them for reprogramming. You can probably figure out which part of the last sentence made humans quite hurriedly take away the dogs from them.

Project TakeBacks effectively dognapped all canines from their robot masters. Many animals were saved, but robots whined bitterly. They began to beep incessantly. This period of time when the robots did nothing but beep was called The Great Cacophony by the robots. The humans called it "The Time of No Sleep". A solution was found to appease the robots. ROBOT DOGS!

The robots enjoyed their robot dogs. Eventually they grew bored with them and traded them for licorice. And that's how humans possessed licorice! Oh, and ROBOT DOGS!

There are so many robot dogs now that I am about to explode.

These ones above are pretty scary. I think it takes all kinds of dogs. And even menacing ones have their day. I personally prefer my robotic canines a little dark. I like that underlying threat of laser danger.
